Not much to say this week except "slow and steady wins the race". I've actually weighed in under the 190 mark for eight consecutive days, but I've been hovering right around 289 and the moving average hasn't quite caught up yet. It will be there next week. Yay.

Another successful week, yay! What I am enjoying about this process is this: Where in the past I have lost more weight more quickly and have subsequently gained it right back, this at least feels like I am losing the weight in a sustainable manner. Yes I have modified my diet and level of exercise habits, but it is neither a starvation diet nor an extreme amount of exercise. Instead both are at a level that I feel like I can consistently maintain for the long term.
Of course, six weeks is way to early to proclaim victory. I know that. But I have a drawer full of jeans that are perfectly good but a little too tight to fit, and I am working towards having them fit properly by the time the Central Florida weather cools off enough to where jeans are daily wear.

So I lost a pound this week. That's nice.
I was doing better than that earlier in the week, then I flew to Fort Worth for two days and again lost momentum. That kinda sucks. But sitting in a conference room literally all day for two days doesn't do much to promote calorie burning. Excuses, excuses.

Still ahead of pace this week, so that's good. That being said, for most of this week it really didn't feel like much of a victory. A lot of this week's "progress" was carryover from the momentum of last week still reflecting on the 30-day weighted moving average. In the raw daily numbers, I actually gained weight for several days for the first part of the week. Theoretically I am using the moving average to insulate myself from being discouraged by things like that, but it was still frustrating. I'll take the victory, but it comes with a side note that I really need to stay focused and energized for the long haul.

9/3/11 - 1
Running total of the number of time Ben has ridden Snow White's Scary Adventures, as of 9/3/11: 3,237
It was kind of a weird day. We were in the park for several hours, but the parade was just starting as we entered so we got pushed over to Adventureland right away. Ben went on Pirates, Jungle Cruise, and The Enchanted Tiki Room (which was awesome, btw, it has been changed back to the original version and is *so* much better than the "under new management" travesty). We finally did make it over to Snow White, but he only went on it one time and then was ready to go.
